Music for the Mysteries is a Scandinavian ensemble performing contemporary music to scripts and lyrics from Western mystery traditions.

Hanne Tofte Jespersen is a Danish composer and musician. She has composed for several scroll texts.

The Seven Natures combines a portion of the Creation Myth according to Enoch with a Celtic manus by Mike Harris (Wales). Vision of Enoch - scroll text of Essene origin, that is more than two thousand years old, yet so modern in its poetic clarity, is set into a music which bridges past-present-future.
Hanne taps into the handed down mystery traditions and successfully derives a music which displays an original beauty, yet clearly contemporary.

The programme also includes two works by Anders Hvidberg-Hansen, young Danish composer and percussionist whose transparent music reflects years of world music inspiration paired with a deep interest in ancient rhythms and what could be termed “Nordic tone”. Swedish born singer Agnethe Christensen adds some medieval songs which she performs solo with cantele. According to venue, these may be lithurgic angelic songs from 12th century or medieval ballads of folkloric origin.

Music for the Mysteries features: Agnethe Christensen, vocal, cantele - Hanne Tofte Jespersen, vocal, piano - Kuno Kjaerbye, violin - Ida Bach Jensen, double bass - Anders Hvidberg-Hansen, percussionpercussion
